Preparation and electromagnetic performance of a light-weight, thin, and high-gain three-dimensional woven hollow structure microstrip antenna

With the popularity of 5 G, there is an increasing request for a light, high-performance, and stable structure wireless communication. To solve problems delamination cracking its own heavy weight conventional microstrip antenna, this study used ultra-high molecular polyethylene (UHMWPE) filament tows purple copper as raw materials to prepare 3D woven hollow antenna preforms on common loom. Using prepared reinforcement resin matrix, VARTM process was with height 6.8 mm, 35 g, bulk density 0.7 g/cm 3 . The combination electromagnetic performance test HFSS software simulation shows that has excellent radiation gain 7.5 dB measured VSWR 1.25. mechanical results show it can withstand maximum compression load 2982 N bending 364 no obvious at fracture. It thin, load-bearing performance. There will be great potential in unmanned field space future.
